9 weeks

I've been feeling pretty awful lately. I'm exhausted on top of being so nauseated all of the time. I can't sleep because I feel so sick and I'm just thinking constantly. I'm terrified that something's wrong with the baby and really need reassurance that everything's okay.

How far along:
9 weeks

Total weight gain: none

How much does baby weigh: it's still just an itty bitty

Maternity clothes: nope

Stretch marks: nope

Sleep: the insomnia continues

Best moment this week: can't think of anything

Movement: nothing I can feel yet

Food cravings: ugh... food... no thanks

Belly button in or out: still an innie

What I miss: having dinner with DH. I'm always too sick at dinner time

What I'm looking forward to: being able to eat healthy again. All I can handle are soup & crackers.

Sorry I've been MIA! Lots of updates!

Life as a momma has been busy, but wonderful! I can't believe almost 9 months have passed by! Caroline has been growing and changing so quickly. My life has done a 180 as I am now a SAHM and have moved across the country for my husband's job.

Here's how Caroline is doing...

Moving: Rolling (I need to look this up... I forget!). Sitting up at 5 1/2 months, crawling at 7 1/2 months, pulling up to her feet at 8 1/2 months.

Eating: Caroline has now been breastfeeding for her whole life. We've never had to supplement with formula despite some slow weight gain. We started solids at 6 months with homemade purees. She wasn't really interested in eating at all, so we tried baby led solids (or BLW) at 7 1/2 months and at 8 months she is finally interested and is enjoying food!

Sleeping: We've had an odd night when she slept over 5 hours (which is considered STTN), but she isn't the best at sleeping. That's okay though. I get sick of everyone asking me if she's STTN yet. I'm not going to sleep train and especially not interested in CIO technique. It's been a challenge getting DH to be on board with not trying CIO since many of the other dads he's talked to tell him that's what he needs to do.

Pooing: We starting using the EC (elimination communication) technique around 3 months. We've had some lulls in success, but overall, Caroline uses the potty quite often when I offer it to her (we only do it part time). I wish we could have used cloth diapers, but with the move, we've been using disposables. I've found the Target brand to work well (and are cheap), so that's what we use.

So, there's a little bit of how things are going! I may or may not update more often. I've preferred to spend my time with my beautiful daughter!

Caroline is here!

My sweet baby Caroline is here! She was born just a few days early... I was induced due to high blood pressure. I was really disappointed because I really wanted to go naturally and was worried how I'd do with the Pitocin. But thanks to an amazing husband and a fairly quick labor, I was able to do it! I had her within 6 hours of them starting the Pitocin. I ended up with a 3rd degree tear which still hurts a lot, but things are going really well! I'll have to elaborate on the whole birth story later... right now I just want to spend every moment with my precious daughter.

I'm so thankful to have my precious little girl here safe in my arms.

39 weeks

How far along: 39 weeks

Total weight gain: 40 lbs still. no gain this week

How much does baby weigh: 6-7-8... ? hopefully not too big!

Maternity clothes: yup, still wearing them

Stretch marks: none :)

Sleep: okay off & on. getting to sleep has been the biggest challenge since this baby is a night owl and is still squirming at midnight.

Best moment this week: being done with working full time!

Movement: lots of it. I think this little one is running out of room!

Food cravings: none

Belly button in or out: if the baby is positioned just so, it's an outie now!

What I miss: being busy (I'm sure I won't miss that for long)

What I'm looking forward to: having my baby!

A May Baby it is...

I'm feeling much better... now I'm just ready to have my baby in my arms! I know I need to be patient since it could still be another 2+ weeks away. I've been trying to stay really active (1 hour work-outs at the gym and lots of walking). I'm running out of things to do around the house (at least the things that I somewhat want to do).
I'm glad May is finally here, though! This is your month Little One!
